But this may also depend one's phone or perhaps even the carrier. However, I was at a standstill and not actually riding. One caller even indicated that it sounded better than my cage's handsfree BT setup. At the inital call connection stage they indicated slight static, but then it was gone and volume was good as well. I tested two incoming phone calls on the X1 BT, and I was impressed that both callers said the call quality was very good. I'd love to know if it's an issue with my phone (Krazer on Cingular/AT&T) or with the X1's BT integration. please let me know how people on the other end of the phone find your audio quality and volume. Since the BT integration is so poor, I just won't use it.ĭo me a favor though. It's a shame I was completely happy with the X1 and X2. Other devices seem to handle priority and such just fine. My impression of the X1's Bluetooth features is that it was completely slapped on as an afterthought for a rush-to-market push. Agreed, if the phone/pda/mp3 handles the muting and priority properly than it's a non-issue. I should have the unit by late this week, and hopefully be able to fully test it out over the weekend. Also in my particular case, my PPC/phone is an all-in-one device which automatically cuts other audio when a call comes in, so it may be a non-issue for me if that's the way the X1 BT works. Your issue of using the phone at the same time other audio us on - is this when you place a call, receive a call, or both? My phone usage (about 95%) would just be answering the few calls I'd receive while on the bike. I'm so glad I spent the extra money for a feature that I wanted basically for emergencies and safety and the occasional "I'll be home in an hour" call. everyone I talk to on the other end of the phone call says that my volume is *VERY* low and *VERY* staticy/noisy. (c'mon, you knew there was a 'but' there, right?) Plus. The solution there would be to change the channel for a few moments while you're on the call and mute the audio manually.īut. I understood that the phone would trump all, but I guess not. The Chatterbox radio just mutes the phone (like it does with the audio) when a voice-comm comes in. So I hear the iPod and GPS at the same time that phone call is on, *AND* the chatterbox radio trumps the phone call. Now, when I have audio on (GPS & iPod via Amplirider mixer into the line in), and I try to use the phone, the audio is still blended in. (c'mon, you knew there was a 'however' there, right?) Their implementation still sucks. They replaced it with a later revision, no questions. More precisely, if I plugged in the audio-in cable to the X1, the Bluetooth went bye-bye. So when I paired my phone, I couldn't use audio from my iPod. In the early rev of the units the system was implented wrong EITHER Bluetooth OR Audio in.
